Title: 1971 Questor GP - F1 vs U.S.
Post by: cosworth151 on July 21, 2011, 04:11:35 PM
Here's something that (sadly) we'll not see again. In 1971, the Questor company was trying to drum up interest for its new Ontario Motor Speedway in suburban L.A. It decided to have an F1 vs F5000 race. At that time, the USAC Indy cars ran only on ovals, so the stock-block SCCA F5000 cars were about their only choice.

Foyt, Stewart, Mario Andretti, Graham Hill, Amon, Peterson, Revson, Follmar, Posey...

It's too bad that both F5000 and Ontario Speedway are both long since gone.
