Title: Beer Could Help Prevent Cancer, Extend Life, Fight Disease
Post by: Wizzo on October 24, 2008, 08:53:11 PM
As if us blokes needed any more convincing, further proof that beer truly is the nectar of the gods was revealed recently following research into the cancer and disease-fighting chemical resveratrol.

The substance is found naturally in red wine but has been isolated and experimented with in the diets of middle-aged mice and was successful in extending their lifespan and keeping the heart healthy.

Amazingly researchers have now found that the chemical is more potent when combined with beer than it is with wine (how did they find that out?), resulting in talk of genetically modified brewskies that would be genuinely effective at fighting disease.

Anyone else like the idea of being on a medicated course of beer to fight off an illness?

Now if they can get the same results with scotch that would make life complete.

Well a fella can dream.
