I always had a thing for Studebakers

Not a big fan of that particular Zephyr model. And I'd take a '55 Buick over the one they included. I also think most Americans would take a '69 Camaro over the one shown. Auction prices would seem to bear this out. And where is the Avanti?
-
I'd loose the 53 Buick, the Camaro and the Fisker for a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe, a 1957 Thunderbird and the Avanti.
-
Yeah Cos and Lonny, the Avanti is my favorite all-time car
-
By Avanti you meant this car right ;)

I always thought the Avanti was one of the great "what if" stories. In 1962, Sudebaker had Raymond Lowey design a long hood, short deck, sporty 2+2 body to put on the underpinnings of their compact Lark. They dropped in a couple of high performance V8's and called it the Avanti. A beautiful, classic car that didn't sell.
Four months after Avani was dropped, Ford design a long hood, short deck, sporty 2+2 body to put on the underpinnings of their compact Falcon. They dropped in a couple of high performance V8's or a plain Jane 6 and called it the Mustang.

pictures don't do the Avanti justice,it's one of those you
have to see in person cars.

I agree, except I always liked the more understated '55 Bird better, just as I've always liked the "55 Chevy more than the '57.

I liked the 63 T-bird with the conversion kit that made it a 2 seater
and shouldn't the first Vette be there too

Pre '50's I like the Duesenberg.
'50's I go with the Thunderbird
'60's - the 1960 Corvette
'70's - Chevelle SS
'80's - VW GTI (only 'cause I had one and loved it - so what if it wasn't American)
'90's onwards...sorry, I don't find any American cars to go on about. :DntKnw:

Its pretty difficult to pick anything pre 50's and not being a Duesenberg, they are just simply put BEAUTIFUL
I would like Dodge Charger for 70's (Nothing to do with Fast & Furious, I just like the simplicity of this model)
In 80's I would say Pontiac TransAm for me (Yes Knight Rider did have an influence in this regard)
In 90's there have to be a Dodge Viper for me
After the Millennium, jeez didn't from there the Retro styling of the cars started, so please go back to the top from pre 50's ;)
-
I'll go along with you there BD, I love the Dodge Viper.

Well, C5, C6, C7 Corvettes are not retro, and not hard to look at either.
