Many of you know how much I think of my dog Toby and how many times he has sat by my side as I watched F1 in the early hours.
Unfortunately Toby at the young age of 8 has been diagnosed with an aggressive type of bone cancer. I have no idea of the expected time span that he will be with us but rest assured Mrs Wiz and I are doing everything we can to make him as comfortable as possible.
He has always loved the beach and is still quite active so we have decided to take him away to Norfolk for a run up and down his favourite beach at Hunstanton.
I may not be in the chat room on Sunday.

Oh gosh, poor Toby. :(
Hope the break lightens everyones mood and you all get some enjoyment, I know a trip to Norfolk coast always blows the cobwebs away for me. :good:

:( :( So sorry to hear Wiz. In many ways a family dog is a closer friend to family members than even each other. Spend some good moments with Toby.
-
Jeez Wiz, I am so sorry to hear that, yes, we know how much you and Mrs Wiz think of Toby.
-
I'm so sorry to hear that, Wizzo. I know first hand how much a dog is part of a family. Toby is certainly a member of the family here at GP Wizard.
God bless you, Toby. Our thoughts & prayers are with all three of you there at Castle Wizzo.

Grim news, poor mite. Let's hope there's a fair few more sticks to be chased yet.
-
Sorry to hear the bad new Wizzo,Toby has been with us since the start
-
Poor Toby! Hope he really enjoys the beach.
-
Poor little pooch. :(
Got any pics you care to post?
-
Sorry to hear this Wizzo.
I hope the family has many more happy times with Toby.
-
Give him big hugs Wiz!
Like you I too have a poorly best friend, my GSD,9 in June, has been diagnosed with canine MS and is gradually loosing the use of his back legs. How long it will be before life becomes too difficult for him, my eyes have filled with tears so have to stop.

Thanks for the kind words guys. We got Toby at about the same time I started GPW it's silly I know but I always considered him a type of mascot for the site. Over the years so many of you always said Hi to him in the chat room that he always felt like one of us.
There is no treatment or magical cure but Mrs Wiz and I are trying everything to ease his pain and give him the quality of life he deserves for as long as possible.
I'm sorry to hear about your GSD Andy, give him a hug from all of us at GPW

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, Andy. I hope he has many more healthy days ahead of him, too.
Toby should feel that he is one of us. He is and has been from the start.
