Title: Chuck Berry has Died at Age 90
Post by: cosworth151 on March 19, 2017, 01:57:02 PM
Music has lost one of its best. Chuck Berry, the father of rock n roll, has died at age 90. He blazed the trail in the early 1950's and was the first person inducted into The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. His high energy performances matched his high powered guitar licks.

When NASA was choosing sounds of Earth to include on a recording that the Voyager spacecraft would carry into deep space, Berry's Johnny B. Goode was included. It was put there because of huge popular demand.

His first hit record (and my personal favorite) was 1955's Maybellene. Here's a 1973 live performance on Midnight Special. He rocks it, including his famous "duck walk."

R.I.P., Chuck. Rock on!
