The stewards have dismissed Red Bull's request to review Lewis Hamilton's Silverstone penalty. After looking at the information RBR presented to them, the stewards deemed it did not qualify as a “significant and relevant new element”.

They added that some of the slides were “not ‘discovered’ but created for the purposes of submissions to support the petition for review. And they were created based on evidence that was available at the time of the decisions. That clearly does not satisfy the requirements of Article 14.”

“The Stewards note, with some concern, certain allegations [which have not been made public] made in the Competitor's above letter. Such allegations may or may not have been relevant to the Stewards if the Petition for Review had been granted. The Stewards may have addressed these allegations directly in any decision that would have followed. The Petition having been dismissed, the Stewards make no comments on those allegations.”

We've all seen the great tumultuous fuss around Lewis lucking into a full 25 points over his title rival and the wringing of hands accompanied by expletives uttered about Stewards not being able to take account of consequences after incidents/shunts/accidents.

Well how about making any car that chooses repair, apart from tyre change, must start from pit lane for a standing re-start, or line up at the back of the grid for a rolling re-start -  so as not to lose a lap.

Teams who have to repair will have no option, but some teams often change damaged parts for new but would not have pitted as it's not race ending/limiting damage.

Yeah I know there will be innocent losers, but hey isn't the whole race always unpredictable and about how chips may fall. Anyway these so called innocent losers more often not are on the receiving end of punctures from debris, as tyre changes will not be regarded a repair I reckon few will be disadvantaged.

Would certainly have solved the dilemma created by the Lewis/Max shunt over severity of penalty.

Also might give us spicier races if faster cars are coming through from the back. What does anyone else think?

P.S. Anyone penalized for causing the red flag and needing repairs gets to start last of all.  ;)

His run of 10 points scoring races since start of season beats even Hamilton & Senna.

Lando also set a new record for consecutive points finishes as a McLaren driver, with his staggering streak of 15 races in the top-10 to take away Alonso's crown.  Wow, Wow & Wow!  :swoon:

Does this horrible little man not realise how ridiculous he sounds and what damage he is doing to the RBR brand.
Surely he has walked around enough tracks to know 'Motor Racing is dangerous' - after all every fence has a sign telling you that!
It is even worse that he blindly defends everything his driver does when everyone (even his fans) accept that Max is one of the most aggressive and therefore dangerous drivers ever to be on F1 tracks!

Hamilton, hometown hero.  I disagree he should have been penalized for what happened, but I'm not a race car driver.  However, given drivers react to things on the order of milliseconds, if the stewards take 20 minutes to decide blame, it's clearly not something that could have been avoided.  Neither Max nor Lewis had 20 minutes to work out how to take that turn.  Lewis survived contact, drove a spotless race and, rarely for him, kept the whining to a minimum.

LeClerc.  Inheriting first place from Max/Lewis was a gift, but he held on to it far longer than I expected.  A great race from a driver who (hopefully) has a bright future in the sport.

Norris.  Continues to prove 'the future' of F1 isn't just a single driver.  There's a whole cohort of 'future champions' waiting in the wings.

Modern F1 safety.  Max hit the barrier with 51 times the force of gravity.  In another era that would have been death.  The car/barrier did their jobs. I'm a little curious how he had that much speed after a long run off area AND a gravel trap. Hopefully no ill effects on Max and he's back for the next race.

Everyone radioing in to race control to provide 'their side' of what was going on.  The stewards (should) know what they're doing.  If you don't trust them, the middle of the race isn't the opportunity to voice your concerns.  Let them do their job.  If they've got any questions, they'll ask.

Driver wise, I don't think anyone was especially disappointing.  Certainly Perez and Vettel had bad moments, but I wouldn't go so far as to 'zero' them.  I'm not sure how Schumacher ended up last.

There were some hiccups in the pitstops, but the commentators suggested the heat of the weekend was causing trouble.  If that's true, hard for the teams to anticipate that, and I did enjoy it mixing things up a bit.  Maybe there's a way to make the wheel nuts 'sticky' without compromising safety that makes the stops a little unpredictable?

It seems RB can see the light for the future of the F1 combustion engine with his comment in the article below he believes Hydrogen is the route for F1 to go. I am not an electric car fan but I like to idea of Hydrogen and one major manufacturer has converted a rally cat Hydrogen and the driver said he could tell no difference.
So how long?
Come on have a guess when the first F1 engine will run on Hydrogen.

I'm assuming that the Grid Game is taking the Pole from the winner of the Sprint Race and no other changes will take place?
