Title: New Toyota
Post by: AJM on January 15, 2009, 01:38:43 PM
Here's the pics from their virtual launch:

don't think the car looks too bad, even the front wing looks decent.

The lack of barge boards still make the cars look a bit swan-necked.

Actually, I'm going to miss the weekly game of "spot the new aero flicks." ;)

just had another look it and the F60, if the rear wing is now smaller...why on earth do they still have the large end plates? I thought endplate would do back to 2003 size  :DntKnw:

One word - ADVERTISING.  That was the main reason for these ridiculously high wings - to enable more billboard space.

Toyota?  They need to win this year to continue onwards according to a report today.

My main comment?  I see Trulli had another pre-season haircut...good luck to them.  I expect there will be a team for sale in Cologne next year, but nobody will be interested in it because it costs so darn much to do business in Germany.

Just got my PC back after 3 days at the repair shop. I was starting to have withdrawal symptoms! :o :swoon: ::) Tell you what, I did an awful lot of catching up with my reading. Finished the Chapman book and half way through the DFV book.

Back on topic. The cars don't look as horrible as I thought they would. I love the sleek nose. I'm not surprised Renault didn't pass the crash test !

Toyota seem to have the slimmest nose so far. I hope for their sake that they get a couple of good results in 09. They certainly need them.

If (when) Toy does tank, I hope Jarno can find a decent ride for a change.

Toyota may surprise this year. There my
pick for underdog this year.

As far as Trulli with his age if Toyota were
to fold I can see this as the end of his F1
career
