Everyone knows that wearing a seatbelt will definitely increase your chances of survival in the event of an accident, but how many know that it also helped saved the life of someone choking?
Apparently Steven Earp was gorging himself on a sandwich when he choked and blacked out. When his vehicle hit a stationary car, the seatbelt miraculously induced the Heimlich maneuver, bringing Earp about to his senses.
I wouldn’t recommend the seatbelt treatment for anyone choking as this sounds more like a miracle than anything else.

No thank you - I've got a First Aid instructor certificate and the seatbelt method sounds an even more awkward method than the one in the book (and the one in the book's hard enough to do effectively!)
