Title: Neil's Banana Longboat
Post by: Jugirl on June 30, 2011, 01:43:53 PM
Sorry Neil it took so long, I had to find the right banana. Asda's were too small and curved so it was a trip to Tesco's hehe

I had a lot of fun making this, hope you like it ;)

Most impressive Ju, in actual fact, it's the best banana long boat that I have seen since that one I had in Wimpy back in 1987. Cracking effort... and, on another note, it's about time we had another food thread :good:

She certainly knows how may beans make five when it comes to cooking. However, you wait till you see my trifle

I'm not sure about the brekky now, not the healthiest of meals is it, :DntKnw:

I reckon it should be a roast dinner. In actual fact, we should have a roast-off, you show me yours and I'll show you mine... You'll be up against stiff oposition though Ju, so be warned :D

Person with the best spread wins.

Hiya CD, not sure how widespread the 'banana longboat' name is actually, but that's what they call it in Wimpy :good:

Of course, to ensure authenticity and to reinforce the roast is indeed all my own work, I have documented the preparation. Something, I have noted that my opponent either forgot or just could not be bothered to do - so points lost there methinks.

OK I've added a poll to this thread so members can vote on who's roast is the best.

To add a little tension to the proceedings, (this is the evil Wiz in me), I have put a time limit of 7 days on the poll so that none of us can see the results until the British GP.  :DD

Good luck to both of you.  :good:

your aforementioned bits.  :D :DD

After both of you have created such fine roasts you wouldn't want to put us off our grub, - now would you.  ;)   :D

Neil isn't Rebecca's shaping the ice cream a direct
violation of the rules for this contest?that is unless
some of you squirrelly friends gave you  a hand

Neil & Ju, I couldn't even warm up a pre-roasted roast.... I'd burn the damn thing.  My old housemate used to ask me to cook when he wanted a day off work.... he wouldn't pull a sickie so he had to actually be sick.  That's how bad of a cook I am.... happily though I hate cooking so it's no major loss.... :P

Sorry Neil, after agonizing over my decision I had to go with Jugirl. You got marks for the pictures as you went but she won me over with the complete menu she posted. Also, she said "crackling" which immediately made her the winner anyways, regardless of whatever else you may have brought to the table, so to speak.

PORK FAT RULES!

ps.. also, she's much cuter than you are. I mean, I've never seen your mug but I just know she's cuter!  :tease:

Ju, I've had to up the ante I'm afraid. The competition is coming to a climax, and it appears that I am bringing up the rear at present. Sorry Ju, but I have had to pull out all the stops and may just have clinched it with this exotic little number...

Well let me tell you that my dessert consisted of grapes, melon, kiwi fruit, neapolitan ice cream, two different flavours of sauce, a wafer AND squirty cream no less, so there. That's it, the gloves are off. It might get ugly from now on :D
