Is it better to live in terror of what Bin Laden might do, or to live in terror of what his followers might do to avenge his death?  I think him gone makes it ever so slightly safer.

I've heard rumblings about should they have captured him instead of executing him.  For one thing they were in Pakistan, so legally removing him from the country wouldn't work.  For another, putting him in prison would only get the crazies crazier.  I think it was a good job to pop him one (that said, I am not a supporter of capital punishment, so don't come after me for that).

The biggest positive may be that the seals found several computers and other documents that initially appear to contain a wealth of info about both operations and financing of Al-Qaeda. if they act quickly they may be able to deal a death blow to this group. I fear there will always be another one along. Blackmail, which is what terrorism is about, is one of the oldest and strongest human evils.
