Just going by rather vague memory here, but isn't that particular Porsche a carbon fiber tub? It is not a 911 as used in all racing series. They apparently slid sideways into a pole and then a tree, relatively sharp objects unlike a safety barrier on a race track. Where metal would have stretched and deformed, the C/F ripped and shattered. The engine bay separated from the cockpit, probably breaking all fluid lines causing an instant fire. Porsche may need to rethink some of the design elements here.

I think Lonny do have fair point, as the tendency of putting everything made of Carbon Fibre trend the supercar manufacturer should take a hard look at this.

Universal has shut down production of "Fast & Furious 7" indefinitely.

"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul's immediate family and our extended 'Fast & Furious' family of cast, crew and filmmakers," Universal Studios said in a statement.

Universal Studios has also created a touching tribute film to Walker using a montage of several "The Fast and the Furious" film scenes. The studio has also announced that a percentage of the proceeds from the upcoming home release of "Fast & Furious 6" will be donated to Walker's nonprofit Reach Out Worldwide, which is a network of professionals with first-responder skills who lend their expertise when natural disasters strike.
