very true words on that site, however the structure is most rigid around the area's of the plane that house control and lift generating devices eg: the wings and vertical stabilizer.......so in a hard landing it might make sense (and this is just to me) that you would be seated in the strongest sections of the plane, but nearest to the emergency exits.

As always just a Rom thought....

Just getting on one these days is enough hassle,and you cant really say i am going to sit here because it is safer.

Take the word of an pilot. The best seat in case of something happening in an airliner is in the back.

It isn't safer, but you get to see more of the crash.

Probably the best seat in case of a crash is
one with the seat pushed back far enough ,so
you can easily bend over and kiss your rear goodby
