Title: Positive covid-19 test could become a Jonah for F1 teams at races
Post by: John S on June 26, 2020, 10:34:41 PM
Renault F1 boss thinks a positive test could totally ruin teams chances at any race.

Perhaps we need a DNS count in the Grid Game.  ;)

I would imagine that the teams are showing up with the bare minimum of personnel, and everyone will be in close quarters with someone.  Sending a team home (or quarantine or whatever) after a single case sounds very prudent to me.

Locales that have contained it are acting like the problem is over (and places that never contained it are too >:( )  it's definitely not something to let slip even a little.

Ferrari has said it plans to practise splitting its team by driver, specifically to make sure a positive test only sends half the team home. (Though, they have also said they can and will break that division if necessary e.g. an engine is to be changed, because they don't know how to change an engine with only half-staff).
