This week we've got one of the fastest tracks of the year, and the only figure 8 in current F1. The 3.61 mile Suzuka circuit is a favorite of many fans, including me.
Pirelli will be offering the white mediums, yellow softs and red supersofts. Past races have shown that the intermediates and full wets may be needed, too.
Kimi holds the lap record. He turned a 1:31.540 in 2005.
Fun facts of the week (hopefully without typos this time ::) )
Max V can set an F1 record for the most wins for a driver who has never had a pole position. He is currently tied with Eddie Irvine and Bruce McLaren at 4.
Kimi can pass Mika for the most F1 wins by a Finn (or should I say the most Finn wins?). They're tied at 20 each.
Here's one for you. Seb & Lewis are tied at 4 WDC's each. Schumi holds the record at 7. Seb & Lewis are also tied at 4 Japanese G.P. wins each. Schumi holds the record for Japanese G.P. wins at 7. How's that for trivia?

Typhoon Kong-rey might have a major impact on the weekend
Oh no...

Something needs to shake things up....Mercedes totally dominant in FP1 and FP2. Ferrari need to find nearly a second!

Yeah it looks difficult for Ferrari to recover that amount Robem64, unless they are sandbagging and will only show their real pace in P3 & quali - lets hope so.
The other thing they maybe banking on is a wet quali, so their set up is a bit more conservative.

I think it's pretty clear Mercedes has the best development team in F1. They have consistently gained more pace over the course of a season than any other team.

Typhoon Kong-rey might have a major impact on the weekend
A similar thing happened in 2014 when Typhoon Phanfone hit Japan on the F1 weekend. It started behind the S/C and stopped after a couple of laps. There was a shortened race after a delay of about 20 minutes.

Esteban Ocon got a 3 place grid penalty for the race. Failure to properly slow during a red flag. The flag was brought out when Hulkenberg hit the barriers at the S curves in the closing minutes of FP3
