Views: 1354 | Comments: 3 Team Penske had two drivers disqualified from the Season Opening St Petersburg street race. Joseph Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin were disqualified for illegal use of Push to Pass. That system is IndyCar's version of DRS. Like DRS it is supposed to be deactivated during starts and restarts and there is software programmed to do that. It was discovered at the Long Beach GP that the Penske cars had illegal software which allowed it to be used during the start and restarts. Data logs showed Newgarden and McLaughlin had used it but Will Power had not. Power said simply, I know the rules so I wasn't pushing the button. He kept his race result, but was fined 10 points for having the illegal software onboard. Frankly I think it couldn't happen to a more deserving crew. I never liked Penske or most of his people. https://www.racefans.net/2024/04/24/oward-handed-st-petersburg-victory-as-two-penskes-disqualified/ April 21, 2024, 04:13:47 PM by Jericoke
Views: 12372 | Comments: 0 I'm going to keep myself to one each again, but plenty to talk about this weekend between the sprint and the race! Hero: I'm going to go with Alpine. Did they have the best weekend? No. Did they have the worst weekend? No! A team that started the season almost dead is showing signs of life. It's a lot of work to gain anything in F1, so good on Alpine for making progress. Zero: Lance Stroll. You've got to expect problems during a restart, the car in front of you might have to react to something you can't see. If you want to win F1 races, you have to be ready for bad things to happen. Views: 13050 | Comments: 3 Without an F1 race since 2019, the track surface may be in question. Also, the current F1 rules are much different, so previous knowledge of the track might not be relevant to the ground effects F1 cars. It's our first sprint weekend of the year. How will the new sprint rules unfold? Will the unfamiliar track make the sprint difficult or interesting? How will the Williams drivers adapt to knowing that a single mistake at any point might end their weekend as replacement car parts are scarce? Is the pressure building on Daniel Ricciardo? What does Sainz have to do to get a quality race seat for 2025? Will Alpine continue to bring up the rear or are they going to move up the order? Can Red Bull/Max Verstappen continue to dominate, or have other contenders closed the gap enough? April 16, 2024, 11:41:20 AM by John S

Views: 30281 | Comments: 10 I have just read the article below and it see the F1 engines in 2026 are to be electrical generators and will have virtually nothing to compare to road cars which has always been the argument for going down this road. Maybe one of you knows more about the 2026 regulations but if what I have read in 2026 I maybe watching something else! https://www.planetf1.com/news/adrian-newey-on-2026-f1-engine-regulations-strange-formula April 14, 2024, 12:31:04 PM by John S

Views: 30108 | Comments: 1 Charles has launched his own Ice Cream line, LEC. There's a freezer company in Britain with the name LEC, think they even had an F1 team for David Purley in the 70s - well a single seater team anyway - wonder if they'll be consulting Lawyers? https://f1i.com/images/505100-speedy-scoops-leclercs-icy-new-venture-hits-the-frozen-aisle.html
