Title: Chat room on race day
Post by: Ian on March 09, 2022, 05:19:17 PM
Really miss the chatroom during the race, I have to watch it on the main tv which is in the other room as I can't get the F1 channel online.  :'(

Sit in the other room & watch the TV with binoculars. Add some way overpriced snacks & beer so it will seem like you're really at the race!  ;)

Seriously, Ian, we have missed you on race days.

I don't get to the Chat room as with most of the races running whilst I'm asleep I watch it all recorded.

You've finally succumbed to Sky Sports then Ian, ;) is it dish, Q box or Now TV?

I've just got a 6 month deal for Sky Sports on Now TV for £20 a month to cover most of F1 season.

Last year I used the streaming on F1.com, Seems like
it was around $9 a month.

We can't have F1.com streaming Dare,  :(  bloody Sky TV took the online rights in Britain along with the TV rights when they created Sky Sports F1 channel.  >:D

I never see a race as it is running.
It is all prerecorded and broadcast afterwards.
If F1 actually allowed proper steaming that actually worked for a decent price I may be a client.

I used a VPN to get around the restrictions on F1TV Pro. My local carrier charges an exorbitant fee just to get 1 channel. Currently paying USD79 for an annual subscription.

Happily for me, SRF here in Switzerland still broadcasts Q and the race live and virtually ad free.  I can also get FP1-3 on an Austrian station.

I may not make it tomorrow either. They did a last minute schedule change for an AMVETS function that I might not be able to get out of.  :(

I am considering going to the chat room tomorrow for the first time in years, simply because I can't guarantee being able to watch Channel 4 later (thus no point in me delaying getting the result).

John S, had a big ruck with virgin over their customer service and ended up with the sky sports package until 2023 for a £1 a month, honestly, I'm not lying, couldn't believe it.

If you have a smart phone, you can login to GPW on your phone, scroll to the bottom and click on the 'Mobile Chat' option.

You can now use the chatroom on your phone whilst watching F1 in another room.  :D
