After taking three consecutive double, Infinity, the luxury brand of Nissan-Renault has made a deal with Red-Bull to be named as Infinity Red-Bull Racing..

I might have,  :DntKnw: how on earth do you recognise one in amongst all the new Chinese and Korean models running round now anyway?  :D

It doesn't mention if the Renault engine will be re-badged Infiniti. I don't think the advertising department will view "Infiniti Red Bull racing, powered by Renault" as good copy. I view the talk of now having Infiniti as a partner as mostly advert hype. After all, Infiniti is part of Nissan which is part of Renault. Same players, different labels.

If you're going to go upmarket from a Nissan, wouldn't you just choose a VW or something?   :DntKnw: ;) ;)

...don't think I've ever seen an Infinity here either.  Nissan's are only SUV's or trucks.

In the US Infiniti competes with BMW, Lexus, and Audi in the Luxury Sports segment. In a comparison test a couple years ago Road & Track picked the Infiniti G as the best in class. Drove one when I was car shopping and it was quite nice.

Renault says the engines will still be Renaults. Infiniti is only a title sponsor.

I've never seen an Infiniti either.  To me this is just Renault making Red Bull closer to being a factory team but through any other means.  Love the corporate names though, not like anyone ever calls a team by it's full 'sponsored' name.

From what I've seen, they mainly compete with Acura for the trust-fund-boy, I'm-so-cool poseur market.

Infinity was almost a copy of what Toyota did with Lexus. Put a nice name so that people would not its just a Nissan. And my uncle in Delaware keeps dreaming of having one, only to be over-ruled by my aunt  :D

Infiniti started out with tarted up Nissans, but the current ones are dedicated chassis. Front engine, rear drive, fully independent suspension. V6 in the entry level, V8 in the premium. And the trust fund boys run more to BMW and Mercedes unless they have a thing for Japanese cars.

I love Mercedes and BMW as well as Infinity, they are really a marvelous example of engineering feat, but I have the problem with owners. They think it their Armani, Luis Vutton Suit, a status symbol, absolutely ignorant about everything about the car. And those who know about the car, are worse, they think they are the centre of the universe, and it revolves around him..

Its not jealousy, promise, its just the ignorance and the blindness that hurts..

(Did I mention it hurt as well when I see Wonder Bra models walk along side Bernie  >:(  )
