While other Formula One stars jetted off for exotic sunshine holidays across Asia this week Lewis opted to prepare for the biggest five weeks of his life by recharging his batteries back in Britain and testing his skills on less powerful cars.
Hamilton said: "I tried staying at resorts at the end of the season and it didn't work out. It's great to get home, get my clothes clean and get back to normal.
"I'm going back to Geneva and I'll do some training then some work for McLaren for a day. After that my brother and I will have a bit of fun with some remote control cars at the weekend. On Monday I'll leave for Japan."
He said: "I've said before that consistency is what will win this world championship. All I can do is take one race at a time while keeping one eye on the final result at the end of the year."
