Views: 698 | Comments: 2 I know there have always been breaks in the F1 calendar. The backbone of the sport is logistics, getting all the people and equipment from race to race to race across 5 continents. They've really solved that though, having multiple versions of the 'big stuff' that gets shipped by ship, and planes to carry the cars themselves and team personnel. F1 can easily have back to back races on the opposite sides of the globe. There's a summer break, so team personnel with families can enjoy time during school breaks. I don't like it (what about those of us who want to go to an F1 race during a school break?!), but I get it. We're asking a lot of F1 teams, and if they need the break, that's fine. Then we come back for two races and... off for a longer break? Is it just the way the schedule is? There's no tracks available right now? Is there holidays to consider? Traditional weather patterns to avoid? With the longest ever schedule, it feels weird having a long late season break. The early season break makes sense, give teams a chance to catch their breath and fix everything they got wrong with their cars. Is this break so that the top teams have a chance to 'reload' and finish the championship with the proverbial guns blazing? October 08, 2024, 02:38:01 PM by John S

Views: 1689 | Comments: 3 We've talked a lot about F1 blocking Andretti's attempts to get into the sport. Here's the opposite side of that situation. NASCAR is finding out what happens when you let anyone with a pile of cash buy a team. Micheal Jordan, 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports are suing NASCAR under the U.S. anti trust laws for anti-competitive practices to prevent fair competition in the sport. Among the specifics: Forcing teams to buy their parts from single-source suppliers chosen by NASCAR. Maybe NASCAR could make up a "Spec Racing for Dummies" book for prospective owners. The scary part of it is that some judge doesn't know a race car from a tea trolley could majorly screw up racing for the entire country. https://www.autoweek.com/racing/nascar/a62487743/michael-jordan-2-teams-sue-nascar/ September 30, 2024, 05:08:47 PM by cosworth151
Views: 2104 | Comments: 1 Former Williams F1 driver Logan Sargeant will get an IndyCar test for MSR in November. Mike Shank says that he doesn't have any IndyCar seats open for next season but "As IndyCar owners, you're kind of foolish not to test a Super License holder who's 23 years old." He does have an large IMSA program too. MSR's shops are about 25 miles from my house. https://www.autoweek.com/racing/indycar/a62413606/mike-shank-excited-logan-sargeant-indycar-test/ September 28, 2024, 12:11:27 PM by John S

Views: 2241 | Comments: 1 Adrian can take up duties at Aston at beginning of March 25, so says Eddie Jordan - and he should know he negotiated Newey's leaving terms. Despite keeping your traps shut until 6th Sept it was still more than a tad over the top parading Adrian with Papa Stroll & drivers at Aston building on that exact day, Eddie. Mind you you never had any taste, manners or decorum did you Eddie. https://f1i.com/news/520478-jordan-confirms-neweys-gardening-leave-and-aston-start-date.html September 26, 2024, 11:07:42 PM by Andy B
Views: 2254 | Comments: 0 If we are all honest this has been on the cards for sometime as DR has not performed well and reputations are not good enough. LL has a big job on his hands but the five races he sat on for DR whilst injured shows he is up to it although he needs to convince that he is good enough for 2025. While I was in Bahrain I met LL in the Paddock and found him to be a very pleasant young man although I doubt he'll remember me! LOL Good luck Liam there's 5 million New Zealanders who have just got an interest in F1. This interview on NZ radio with LL confirms that LL and DR knew it was happening and that it was Dr's last race. https://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/motorsport/formula-1/formula-one-kiwi-liam-lawson-wins-race-for-racing-bulls-seat-daniel-ricciardo-axed-by-red-bull/7BZU2JKRQ5CIRGEYCUKXULATY4/
