Title: No more Sky F1 in NZ
Post by: Andy B on October 25, 2018, 04:54:58 PM
2019 brings Spark into the frame as the broadband supplier of F1 in NZ so the Sky F1 team who I like is probably not going to be seen by me. The have already admitted that they are working on a back up system in case the streaming does not work so its not looking good.

Call me old fashioned if you like but what or who is Spark, Andy?  :DntKnw:

Also if the feed you get is not Sky which commentary team will it be, that's if you know of course?

Spark, John, is a phone broadband company in NZ and I dumped them recently as their costs were too high and service was not good but their intention is to stream it I would assume that it'll be available via other mediums. They have already said they are making provisions in case it doesn't work so I'm also not confident in their ability.
Also based on that there's no information on who the commentary will be by whether the practice and races will be shown live or delayed so there's a lot of information missing.

I've been reading about it in this article (as well as people's comments below it) ...

A real shame if you don't have access to ITV/Sky commentary - world audio feed at the very least?

I went through similar pain when I arrived here in Western Canada (at which point, I was used to BBC/ITV coverage back in Scotland).  It was PAINFUL to have no alterative to The Speed Channel or TSN at that time (as knowledgeable commentary was 'horrific' and commercials every 5-10 minutes with no logic to how they interrupted live coverage!!!).  Half the time, they returned from a commercial break, realised they had no voice audio ... then ... you guessed it, went straight back to commercials while they investigated who tripped over the plug in the wall.

Best Regards,
Cal :)
