I was just reading the thread on the finish to this years Indianapolis 500 and I have to say I am mightily impressed at how good those cars look! I have to confess I do not follow the series at all anymore but after looking at those cars I may just have to check out a race or two. Anyone else share my view? I'm not sure what it is but I think it might've been that extremely low rear wing really impressed me. Anyways that is all.

I think you'll find some resistence to that line of thinking here.
The front ends look nice, especially compared with the platypus convention F1 gives us.
While I can appreciate that the back end has its detractors, I think it looks good. It invokes a muscular, racy feeling.
However, the sleek nose and the muscular rear combine like Schumacher and Bruno Senna... it's a wreck.

I definitely agree with Darrell, they really look something that will give you something to have more than a few glances.
Yes those low rear wing along with parts around the rear tires really a catcher to the eye. Though I prefer functionality rather than aesthetics, but it never wrong to appreciate beauty..
I still like those so called platypus-nose of F1, I have a feeling will always be incorporated with a spectacular season of F1, Six out of Six and still counting..

But they aren't open wheel cars any more. Except for the front wheels, they might as well be LMP Challenge cars.

Very True!!. And there is already some signs the rear bit won't stop the cars from over riding each other like it was supposed to.

Not a fan of the new cars.

Well, it's just not possible to stop any possible accident from happening. They're just trying to minimize the ones they can imagine, and make sure that the accidents that killed Gilles Villeneuve and Dan Wheldon never happen again. (By far my favourite part of the new chassis is that it's named for Wheldon)

Exactly! Dan wasn't killed because his car rode over another one, he was killed because his car rode over another one, took a funny bounce and launched head first into the fence at a track they shouldn't have been racing on in the first place. A "Perfect Storm".

I must confess to liking the overall look of the Indy cars this season, I also like the look of giraffes and llamas, :D but I can't say I find any of them sexy. :stop: :nono:

Perception my dear Johny its perception that make a platypus nose nasty to you, yet Mercedes will always remember it with one of the beautiful car of its prestigious history.
