Title: Is Helmut Marko really 'that' stupid?
Post by: Monty on June 02, 2014, 01:02:00 PM
It is being reported that Helmut Marko reckons that they can 'bill' Renault for loss of earnings:-

Helmut Marko says their accounts department will also be having a little chat at the end of this season.

The Red Bull advisor has revealed that Red Bull could bill Renault for lost revenue as the engine supplier is costing them valuable points and positions in the Constructors' Championship.

"It would be irresponsible to talk about the exact figure at the moment," he told Germany's Bild.

"But the list of losses due to problems with the Renault engine is long enough.

"The season is not yet finished but at the end of the Championship our finance department will assess the damage.

"That's when we can talk about the magnitude of losses due to Renault problems."

I really do not like Marko but surely even he isn't that stupid. Success in motor sport relies on a 'sum of the parts'. Based on a 'blame culture' Renault could have 'billed' RBR last year when the Newey designed chassis didn't provide enough cooling resulting in Renault engine failures which damaged Renault's reputation!

I vote for him really being that stupid, too

Maybe Renault will throw in an old Turbo Fuego to make up for it.

I think its just a tickle from the Red Bull garage to Renault, and to get notice of the Renault's big brass, so that they could gain a few more privileges in the future. Or just may be because of the lack of win for Red Bull, he wanted to the head-line and center of the attention  :P
