Just to show you guys we are heading in the right direction I have some website popularity figures for you. These figures are gathered from Alexa market research and show the global ranking of websites.
GPWizard Statistics:
February 2006 = Unclassified (website launch)
July 2006 = 4,756,892
December 2006 = 222,021
Not bad eh? and it's all down to you - Thank You! :good:
-
Just another 222,020 to go
-
I think Yahoo is safe in pole position but watch out that little shop in Brighton selling over sized ladies shoes - here we come! ::)
-
Don't get it, July looks like 4 3/4m but December looks like less than 1/4 of a mill
-
Yes that's right Ian.
It refers to the global ranking of websites, therefore;
1. Yahoo!
www.yahoo.com
2. Microsoft Network (MSN)
www.msn.com
3. Google
www.google.com
4. Baidu.com
www.baidu.com
5. Myspace
www.myspace.com
at the moment we stand at position 222,021 but we used to be 4,756,892!
Anything in the top 100,000 is excellent so thats the target, lets hope we get there when the new season starts.

Silly old me, see, keep telling you I'm a dinosaur on these new fangled things, thank you :-[
-
Just checked the image gallery page, it's ranking is 189,793!
I can see what you lot have been up to! ::)
-
We're still on the up and up. Traffic Rank for gpwizard.co.uk:

:yahoo: nice one wizard. Loved your autosport pics

So are you aiming to follow in PistonHeads wheeltracks and sell out to the establishment? If so, when do we get our cut?

I have no intention of selling out, some advertising revenue would go along way to improving things if you have any ideas. What happened to PistonHeads?
-
Dave sold to the publishers of Autosport for 'an undisclosed sum'

Lucky man! To give you some idea though his site is ranking at 7,976 and although we are improving all the time (now at 139,752) we have a long long way to go to get anywhere near that level.
To give something to compare it to www.ferrari.com ranks at 18,648!!! So he was certainly doing something right. Has the site changed at all since the take over?
-
Congrats! Glad to see things doing so well.
Considering that at least 10,000 of the sites ahead of you are pix of Paris Hilton and/or Britney, not bad at all! :good:

You probably know that PistonHeads started as a TVR owners site. I have had TVR's for years so knew the site fairly well. It has changed constantly (mostly for the better). The site gets a massive amount of advertising from car dealerships linking to the classifieds.
The sale only went through recently so I wouldn't expect too many changes yet. Haymarket have said they will leave it as it is. Time will tell.
