Title: My idea for a new series - please add your own rules
Post by: Canada Darrell™ on January 13, 2011, 05:09:00 PM
Just for fun:

As I've thought for many years about doping and performance enhancing drugs in Pro Sports, there should be a "Steroids Olympics". In other words, do whatever the hell you want to your body and I'll watch you compete in your own, separate events.

So with that in mind and all the STOOPID rules we see imposed on the automotive world I propose this along with the following rules. Add your own rules too please!

- No engine limits
- Use any tyre you want rated for your top speed
- Driver cockpit must pass a crash test otherwise anything goes

I could go on and on but lets open it up for your rules/amendments!

If you cut a corner and gain a position, as soon as you've given the position back your free to race again.

If the stewards can't figure out a penalty within two laps, get out of jail free card (i.e. no penalty at all).  No post race penalties of any kind.

WMSC (when necessary for major issues or infractions) is to be populated by (on a rotating basis - from at least 4 different countries) 1/3 F1 Journalists, 1/3 first time to WMSC Dedicated Fans (feel free to find them on F1 sites on the internet and then fly them into Geneva for the festivities), remainder to be split evenly between FIA officials and ex-F1 Drivers.

Same split on the working groups writing the F1 rules (but replace the Journalists with a representative from each team).

one better:

If you cut a corner for any reason except avoiding an accident with an aggressive opponent, stop and go penalty.

If your aggressive driving cause an opponent to cut a corner to avoid you, stop and go penalty.

(Or to hell with safe driving.  They're all grown ups in crash tubs: If you cut off your opponent, good on ya... make him suffer the penalty.   >:D )

If a driver feels the need to take action into his own hands and tries to punch out another driver, nobody is to get between them. Automatic start from the end of the grid next race if someone from your team comes to your rescue or banned for life for the 3rd party that tries to end the altercation.  >:D

You've almost written the Can-Am rules here. Those were the days.
