Title: Merc's New Wing for Spain
Post by: cosworth151 on May 19, 2016, 12:58:42 PM
Here's a closer look at Merc's new front wing they introduced for Spain, since we didn't get to see them all that long on race day. I think it's interesting to see 3D printed parts making their way into F1.

I hope it's a way to keep costs down

In terms of cost controls, the FIA could mandate standard printers for teams, and a fixed supply of printing material.  Better teams would still have advantages, but they couldn't bring dozens of test parts while smaller teams only get to try one.
