Few forms of racing are more interesting/exciting than midgets. They used to run midgets, sprints and stockcars at Phoenix Raceway every spring and while the bigger cars were mostly single file, the midgets would blast into the corners 2 and 3 wide with no trouble. Great fun. Unfortunately they don't run them anymore.

Too bad you can't to something similar now. Wouldn't
it spice things up.

Finally the series you got me hooked on
came to a end recently. You remember which one?

Could it be 'Montalbano', Dare?  - If not it should be.  :tease:

There was 'Young Montalbano' spinoff too after the earlier ones with a different cast. Then they made a few more episodes of the original with most of the previous cast - and boy did some of em look old.

They've been repeating them on BBC 4 on Sat or Sun evenings lately, I like watching them again & again.
There's summat about the Sicilian way of life, judicial arrangements & laisse faire attitude from the public to the cops that make the shows fascinating. Not to forget the architecture of the buildings and peculiar landscapes.

To keep faith with section this is posted in there were non-championship Formula 1 races staged in Sicily most years from 1951 to 1967, the Syracuse GP. Many of the greats won there from Ascari to Surtees.

Montalbano went from 1999 to 2021. Every year
2 new episodes showed . This year it was one series
final episode. The author and director had died so
ending the series was decided.
