Hey that wasn't supposed to work, the file size exceeded the 250kb limit. I give up with this technology lark :fool:

What kind of camera did you get, Neil?

By the way, 204 kb is less then 250 kb. ;)

It's a Canon G9 Cos, my first Camera actually. Did it come out at 204kb? lol, It said 268kb when I downloaded the picture. I got a lot to learn cos.
You into your Cameras cos?

Cheers cos

You into your Cameras cos?

I'm a full blown camera nut, Neil. And a Canon fan on top of that. My current main camera is a 20D. I also have a Elan II 35mm, an ELPH APS and a Powershot A40. When I'm at the races, it's not unusual for me to shoot 300+ pix a day!

By the way, all of the pix I have in the Gallery sections are ones that I shot myself.

If you have any questions about cameras, please feel free to ask.

Wow, good one, quite a selection there mate. I picked the G9 because from the reviews I read it seemed to be an adequate all-rounder and not too bulky, hopefully I'll be able to use some of it's settings in months to come and not always rely on the 'auto' mode.

Cos if I do get into trouble with it and can't get the answers from the net, I'll be in touch, thanks for the offer.

Oh I've got a question already: Is there a file size limit when you put photo's in the Wizzo's gallery?

Thanks cos

There is a limit, but I'm not sure what it is. The raw files out of the 20D are around 3 meg. I knock them down to around 500kb for the site. By mistake, I once tried to upload a raw, 3 meg file. The site waved a white flag!

One of the best things about digitals: You can shoot tons of test pix just to see how the various settings work, then delete the ones you don't like. It's the best way to learn!

I took some more test snaps earlier on the 2592 X 1944 size, the file size came out at 2.2 MB, I looked all over the software to try and knock the size down to fit here, but no luck. I think we've had a similar conversation on here before actually.
So I shot that car picture on the 640 X 480 size.
Looks like I'll have to use that setting when I take the photos of the babes, er, erm I mean cars tomorrow If I'm gonna post them on here

Cheers

Hi dare, she's five years old now, I still quite enjoy driving it actually, it's been fun.
That is indeed taken outside of the Neil.P HQ.
I'm working on getting a few snaps of that Ian character, he's proving to be a tad illusive though :D
I'll post a few babes up on here I'm sure :D
Cheers mate

Here's a nice freebie download to edit and retouch photo files, and reduce file size:

http://picasa.google.com/download/

There's better stuff out there, but this one is free, and it's a good place to start.

Just found out that my iphoto application might be able to reduce the size of my 2.2MB picture that I took earlier, here goes... Think I've actually pulled it off here :yahoo:

That happens fast, doesn't it?

Good pix of both the abby and the cars. What's the story behind the second car pix?

Hi dare, it's actually quite nice there especially in the summer, I tried taking some more snaps but it started raining as usual.

Cos, that was a Renaultsport organised Trackday at the Bedford Autodrome. Basically it's an old airfield that has been made in to a really good track, lots of run off area so if you get into a bit of difficulty you just go across the grass. Usually about 30-40 cars attend I reckon.

Anybody with a "sporty" Renault can go, I think it costs about £99 for the half a day or something.

Cheers

All depends where your taking the picture from dare actually, if you are facing south, it's really nice, in the summer they really make the gardens look good etc.
However, if you are facing north, there is a really dreary looking council estate and factories as far as the eye can see.
I'll get some more snaps when the weather brightens up.
