"June Cleaver" Dies at 94
« on: October 17, 2010, 09:07:02 PM »
Barbara Billingsley has passed at the age of 94. She was best know as June Cleaver, the mother of Wally and Theodore "Beaver" Cleaver on the TV series Leave It To Beaver. The series ran from 1957 to 1963. The sequel, Still the Beaver, ran from 1983 to 1989.

Billingsley and her TV husband, Ward Cleaver (Hugh Beaumont) were the prototypical American parents. Several of her later roles, including the movies Airplane and Back to the Beach, spoofed her role as June.

When our daughter was growing up, her mother and I used to joking refer to each other as Ward and June.

remember this from Airplane?

Mark Twain once opined, "it's easier to con someone than to convince them they've been conned."
