Rookie Wins Daytona 500
« on: February 22, 2011, 02:02:00 PM »
The oldest team in NASCAR won this year's Daytona 500 with the youngest winner ever.

The Wood Brothers have been in NASCAR since 1950. Trevor Bayne turned 20 the day before the race. Together they won Daytona. It was the Wood's 5th Daytona 500 win, their first since 1976. It was Bayne's 2nd Cup race.

Since the Wood Brothers are my favorite active NASCAR team, I yelled myself horse at the end of the race.  :yahoo:

I loved his post race interview.  He said he can say whatever he wants because he's just dreaming.   :DD :DD

Ford hired the Wood Brothers to be Clark's pit crew in '65 when the Lotus-Ford won. Take every advantage.
