A Great Weekend Ahead!
« on: September 29, 2011, 03:52:15 AM »
This weekend will be the greatest sporting weekend of my life!

Saturday night I'm sitting with my older brother in the student section for the Wisconsin vs. Nebraska game. (this is one of the biggest football games of the year, they are #7, and 8 respectively in the country. and its Nebraska's first game in the Big 10 division) Plus its a night game in the student section at Camp Randel!

Then Sunday morning I'm off to Milwaukee with both my brothers to go Game One of the playoffs between the Milwaukee Brewers and Houston Astros. (The last time the Brewers won the division, and won this spot in the playoffs was in 1982) Besides racing Baseball is my favorite sport, and i'm a die hard Brewers fan

One of the biggest football games of the year, then post season baseball Back to Back!

What's a playoff game?

Cos (Life-long Cleveland Indians fan)

Seriously, The Tribe did very well for most of the season. They led their division up until late August. Then they went completely in the tank and just ended up 15 games back.  :'(

Sounds like a great week-end, PG. Enjoy!

Sounds swell PG, hope you enjoy every minute.  :good:

A word of warning, don't try and count the number of beers it will only spoil the fun.  ;)

Even better, it's 2% beer at $6 per little plastic cup!

Remember, they are the Milwaukee Brewers, who play in Miller (Brewing) Park.  ;)

Slightly off topic, but does anyone remember when the "Game of the Week" featured Dizzy Dean and Peewee Reese and was sponsored by the Hamm's Beer bear and a little cartoon guy plugging Falstaff?

"Hamm's, from the land of sky blue water."

Around here, the Reds gams would have Wiedemann beer ads, with the Old Riverboat Captain. He'd talk about the pioneers and their "Sincere and monumental thirst."

Lonny from 1960 when I was a kid to 1986 I bowled at Pee WeeReese Lanes
here in Louisville. You couldn't have met a nicer man than Pee Wee.

In all those years there I never had the sense ot get his autograph

Man I loved those Hamm's commercials. Dare, about that time I lived in Tempe, AZ. Dizzy lived on North Central Ave in Phoenix about 10 miles away. Unfortunately, there was a 10 foot high wall around the place and you couldn't get near him.  :'(
