WEC Japan

Fisico and his team did fantastic job in Japan WEC weekend yesterday. Their team became second in their GTE Pro class! :yahoo: The race was difficult because it was so hard rain (I didn't see the race because the time gap was too much for me, I was sleeping) but Eurosport showed short highlight of the race and the podium ceremony. AF Corse #51 car team leads their class too in team table. Very interesting end of season follows... ;)

You didn't miss much. Only 16 laps were run, most of them behind the Safety Car. The race started under caution, ran 8 laps behind the SC and was stopped. The restart went for another eight and was red flagged again. After a wait, they just drove the cars to park ferme and gave up.

That was not a race, and only avoided being tile grout by being the wrong colour. Waking up at 2:10 am to watch an average of one lap per 24 minutes was not my greatest idea ever (though I did get a shoutout on Radio Le Mans - 90 minutes into Part 1 of their commentary podcast).

It is great that Fisico and his team-mates are leading the championship. I'd just have preferred their 2nd in the race had been due to something more exciting than, "We completed the out-lap when one of the cars ahead aquaplaned into a wall"... Sadly, the weather didn't co-operate.
