Button Robbed While on Vacation.

Seriously, I remember something like this from a TV cop show a while back.

Jenson Button and his wife Jessica were on vacation at a villa in Saint-Tropez. A gas was pumped into the house via the air conditioning. Once the occupants were asleep, the criminals came in and stole more than $325,000 worth of loot. Jessica's 5 carat engagement ring was part of the haul.

Wow...when I first started reading it and it was in France I thought 'well, of course they were robbed, they were in France' but that's pretty high end cat burglary. 

The thought of being drugged and helpless while someone else is in your bedroom is horrific, much worse than the loss of $300k which they were probably insured for.

Maybe they can turn it into an ad like when Bernie lost his watch.

Could easily have been something worse, the gas could have been lethal. Thankfully it's only a financial loss, I hope they are caught before they do this again.

I'm back from vacation

Definitely didn't go to France.

I wouldn't even know how to pump gas into an A/C system.  I mean, just getting the connections setup up, and the pressure right, and converting between North American and European power sources is a nightmare.

We have the exact opposite problem over here. Some of the local burnouts huffed all of the gas out of the A/C unit at the office. We had to put a locking cap on the fill valve.
