Alan Rickman Dies
« on: January 15, 2016, 01:27:17 PM »
Actor Alan Rickman has died at the age of 69. The British actor was best known for his film roles as villains. He played Severus Snape in the Harry Potter movies. He also played one of my all-time favorite film baddies, Hans Gruber, in the first Die Hard. He was also Alexander Dane in the wonderful Star Trek farce, Galaxy Quest.

R.I.P., Mr. Rickman.

He'll always be Professor Snape to me, although his performance in Love Actually was excellent, and his Sheriff of Nottingham was one of the few highlights of Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.  He's another one who has gone too soon.

What a lousy start to 2016.  Bowie, Rickman, and de Fillipis.  It is said that January can be a cruel month, but it has been very harsh this year.

I liked him as Gruber as well...even more than I liked Bruce Willis in that movie.

Daniel Radcliffe had glowing compliments about him - http://www.bustle.com/articles/135593-daniel-radcliffe-honors-alan-rickman-with-a-truly-touching-emotional-tribute

Quite something that he was the same age as Bowie and died within days of him, also of cancer that was hidden from the public until his death.

RIP Mr. Rickman...

A fantastic actor,  such a shame. What a crap start to the year.
