New track in Canada: Area 27

A new race track has opened in British Columbia.  It was designed by Jacques Villeneuve (Gilles' son), it was built by a Canadian NASCAR driver, and named for an F1 legend (27 being Gilles' number at Ferrari).

It's currently a club racing circuit without grandstands, without plans to become a major racing circuit, but we can dream about having another world class facility in Canada!

It does look like a fine circuit. Other circuits started as this type of club venture, so maybe this one will, too.

The hairpin in the middle of the pits isn't anything new. The street circuit for the IMSA Columbus 500 of the mid-1980's had an even tighter one. It went from the westbound lanes of Broad street to the eastbound lanes. The V-12 GTP Jags had to make a 3 point turn to get through it!
