Star Struck?
« on: August 11, 2018, 10:12:08 AM »
So, I am not normally someone bothered about meeting 'famous' people, I can take it or leave it.  But last night due to where I work, I had the opportunity to meet Major Tim Peake (briefly) at the launch event of the Soyuz Tour.  I simply had to get a photograph taken with the man as after all, how often am I going to be in the company of someone who has been in space and lived on the International Space Station?!

So, anyone else been unexpectedly star struck?

Nice one Luke, you should have tapped him up for ride if he goes up again.  :good:

I bowled at Pee Wee Reese Lanes till it closed in 1986.
He was a heck of a nice guys. Only the American's will know who he is.

I'm old enough to remember the Baseball Game of the Week on Saturday with Ol' Diz and Pee Wee "learnin' us baseball". If Warren Spahn was pitching for the Milwaukee Braves, it made my week.

Being a life-long Tribe fan, it was meeting Bob Feller at training camp back in 2007. He even autographed a ball for me.

I agree with Lonnie about PeeWee & Diz. It was never the same after the games moved to NBC & they replaced Dizzy Dean with Curt Gowdy.
