Scramble for Silverstone tickets
« on: June 12, 2007, 04:55:04 PM »

SIR Frank Williams hailed Lewis Hamilton as “a phenomenon” after the youngster’s victory in Montreal prompted a scramble for British Grand Prix tickets.

Hamilton maintained his stunning start to his career on Sunday by winning the Canadian Grand Prix at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

The 22-year-old Briton managed to hold his nerve over the 70 laps as chaos ensued behind him, leading from start to finish.

Hamilton now commands an eight-point lead over McLaren team-mate and reigning double world champion Fernando Alonso heading into Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis.

And Williams, who guided Nigel Mansell and Damon Hill to world titles with his team, said: “Lewis is clearly a very special driver. We have never seen anything like this in F1 before.

"No Matter how little money and how few possessions, you own, having a dog makes you rich."
