EU, Ferrari, Tobacco and supercars

The EU health commisioner has written to Ferrari to ask them to terminate their F1 sponsorship contract with Philip Morris.  This is highly unlikely to work since both compnies are in breach of the agreement they signed two years ago with the other tobacco companies and their teams at that time saying that they would cease tobacco sponsorship in F1 by the end of 2006.

So the EU is threatening to get tough on CO2 emissions from supercars and some MEPs even want to go as far as banning cars capable of exceeding the speed limit in their country of origin.  Can we expect all this threatening legislation to disappear if Ferrari and Philip Morris tear up their contract?

Why do we put up with all this crap from the EU, it's because we have'nt had a PM who would stand up and say  ' UP YOURS, this is no good for my country so you can stuff it '. Kick them all into orbit!!!!
An aircraft landing is just a controlled crash.
