The GTi Spring Festival now in its third year, has certainly hit the ground running. It is now without doubt a very major Season Opener. It already exceeds the visitor numbers of the July GTi Summer Festival, which has been running for 15 years! With Sprinting, Show and Shine, Clubs, Autojumble and Traders, it follows a simple formula, which has for many years included the Fireforce Jet Car car team. It might be that some VW enthusiasts were beginning to become a little passé about the 300mph vehicle going through its paces at each event.

Le Mans 24 Hour Motorcycles

This is the 31st 24 Hours for Motorcycles and is part of the Endurance World Championship. The riders will also tackle the new Bugatti circuit layout. The major news is the increasing involvement of works teams: in addition to Suzuki, the reigning champions, Kawasaki, Yamaha and Honda, 2008 will see BMW joining the battle for the world title. The supreme achievement for one of these makes would be starting the year with victory in the 24 Hours.

London to Brighton Mini Run 2008
