Microsoft to Sponsor NASCAR Racer
« on: March 29, 2008, 08:52:26 AM »
It seems strange why Microsoft have never sponsored motorsport, however that is about to change after the software giant worked with Formula 1 team McLaren to come up with a standard management unit for all the teams, as they are now not allowed to use traction control.

Well it has been reported that Microsoft is about to enter the world of NASCAR by sponsoring Ken Schrader’s #49 Toyota Camry at the Martinsville Speedway this weekend. Microsoft will then sponsor the car for another 32 races.

Let us hope that this partnership goes well, as it would be great for someone like Microsoft to sponsor a Formula 1 team.

I thought Microsoft was already sponsoring all the F1 teams, developing the software for the MES ECU as it is.

I thought that this was just a one off in America?

BAM Racing's website reads like this will be an ongoing deal.

Kenny Schrader had long been my favorite NASCAR driver. I was sad to see that he's gone over to the dark side.
