I know this isn't really the place to discuss in depth European politics, but how did they win with 7% of the vote?

Proportional representation Jeri, the total number of seats is divided into one hundred then allocated according to any party acheiving the desired percentage or multiples thereof. So if we assume 20 seats ( may be more) for the whole of sweden then any party getting 5% or more will get at least one seat, a party getting 25% will get 5 seats and so on. In Britain it is a bit harder as the system is further split into regions having the effect of requiring over 10% and sometimes over 20% of the vote to get a seat. This is only used for EU elections in Britain, no idea of Swedish national elections.

I know it's a good laugh but we should remember Pirates are in favour of plundering other peoples goods, services and money.  :stop:     :nono:  Very naughty!

So I for one hope this does not set a trend. >:(

So it's not even a person who won an election?

I know that my brain isn't what it was, but... what exactly did they elect?  A piece of paper?

Might as well be.  :D

No seriously each party supplies a list of candidates in the order they want them to be appointed, as and when they win seats. The :fool:

I can tell you are  ......well we are as well, yet we get to take part in the whole shennanigans.
