I'm unsure what CH is trying to do although it is certainly not win friends as he is now moaning that it should be Mercedes paying their repair bill.
I used to quite like his approach but not of late so maybe he has been given a hurry up or he'll be dropped to Alpha Tauri!  ;)

Surprised that nobody had started this (unless I missed it  :tease:). So for me:-
George Russell for an excellent race and suggesting to his team that they should concentrate on getting the best result for Nicholas Latifi
Ocon - yes the win was a 'gift' but he had to stay at the front.
Alonso - perhaps his driving was becoming dangerous in the later 'defences' against Hamilton but he did the best for the team
Hamilton - love him or not; what a race! From a distant last to third (or second depending on Seb's penalty)

Obviously Bottas should be at the top of this list, but no; top of the list has to be Horner. He seems to be hell-bent on backing up the meme of the UK Red Bull advert; Red Bull gives you whingers! He actually said that Mercedes had a fantastic team strategy of taking out both Red Bulls! Also that he is going to seek legal action to get Mercedes to cover the RBR costs. He seems to have missed the point that it was an accident and that Bottas actually hit the McLaren. Also that McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes themselves will have huge rebuild costs.
However, close second - Bottas. I have some sympathy that he was squeezed and then had two cars take his downforce but (almost) everyone else managed to stop.
That brings us to Stroll. Possibly even more of a 'rookie' error than Bottas.

My only question is why do you have to have
any guess left. Just enough to finish the race
would seem to be enough.

A few cars ran out of gas so how did they get the one
liter sample from them? Or is that podium finishers only?

I miss the excitement of pole positions being set in a desperate last lap set after the time has run out.

I'm not just complaining about Lewis holding up Max today (everyone seems to agree it was a valid tactic), but over the course of this season, the pole time is usually the winner's FIRST flying lap of Q3, not their last.

Is the issue tires?  Are the hybrid power systems so complex that preparing a car for a lap is difficult?   Do the drivers really only have one 'perfect lap' in them for the   day?  (I can't believe that of Hamilton!)  Are the drivers' psychological tricks getting into everyone's head?

The stewards have dismissed Red Bull's request to review Lewis Hamilton's Silverstone penalty. After looking at the information RBR presented to them, the stewards deemed it did not qualify as a “significant and relevant new element”.

They added that some of the slides were “not ‘discovered’ but created for the purposes of submissions to support the petition for review. And they were created based on evidence that was available at the time of the decisions. That clearly does not satisfy the requirements of Article 14.”

“The Stewards note, with some concern, certain allegations [which have not been made public] made in the Competitor's above letter. Such allegations may or may not have been relevant to the Stewards if the Petition for Review had been granted. The Stewards may have addressed these allegations directly in any decision that would have followed. The Petition having been dismissed, the Stewards make no comments on those allegations.”

We've all seen the great tumultuous fuss around Lewis lucking into a full 25 points over his title rival and the wringing of hands accompanied by expletives uttered about Stewards not being able to take account of consequences after incidents/shunts/accidents.

Well how about making any car that chooses repair, apart from tyre change, must start from pit lane for a standing re-start, or line up at the back of the grid for a rolling re-start -  so as not to lose a lap.

Teams who have to repair will have no option, but some teams often change damaged parts for new but would not have pitted as it's not race ending/limiting damage.

Yeah I know there will be innocent losers, but hey isn't the whole race always unpredictable and about how chips may fall. Anyway these so called innocent losers more often not are on the receiving end of punctures from debris, as tyre changes will not be regarded a repair I reckon few will be disadvantaged.

Would certainly have solved the dilemma created by the Lewis/Max shunt over severity of penalty.

Also might give us spicier races if faster cars are coming through from the back. What does anyone else think?

P.S. Anyone penalized for causing the red flag and needing repairs gets to start last of all.  ;)

His run of 10 points scoring races since start of season beats even Hamilton & Senna.

Lando also set a new record for consecutive points finishes as a McLaren driver, with his staggering streak of 15 races in the top-10 to take away Alonso's crown.  Wow, Wow & Wow!  :swoon:

Does this horrible little man not realise how ridiculous he sounds and what damage he is doing to the RBR brand.
Surely he has walked around enough tracks to know 'Motor Racing is dangerous' - after all every fence has a sign telling you that!
It is even worse that he blindly defends everything his driver does when everyone (even his fans) accept that Max is one of the most aggressive and therefore dangerous drivers ever to be on F1 tracks!
