One of you British food lovers tell me what Shepards Pie is and
if it's any good. Restaurant here has it but I'm afraid to tyr it.

That's probably wise Dare, as you'll no doubt be served Cottage pie
rather than proper Shepherd's pie.  ;) :D :tease:

Maybe you should change that to "English chefs." British would include Scottish chefs. Any country who's most famous dish involves turning a sheep inside out.......

... the two common mistakes >>>

1) People spell it wrong (Shep-Herd) ... clue is in the two syllables.
2) Shepherd's Pie is made with Lamb, Cottage Pie is made with Mince (Ground Beef in North America).
3) Cottage Pie can involve Sweetcorn and Cheese (again, typically in North America with a few variatons).

... plenty of tatties on top, every time! :)

Best Regards,
Cal :)

I dare you to whisper that in Gordon Ramsay's ear - sure he would love to hear from you!!!  ;)

The big surprise is how he's stayed on tv all these
years. Calling him rude is a compliment. He thinks he's
going to be the next Bourdain.with his manners in some
countries they'll stick him in the pot and cook him. In case
you haven't notice I mildly dislike him

Don't feel bad dare, as most of us fellow Scots dislike him for all the pantomime surrounding those early claims that he played in the "first team" for Rangers FC.  It's an old story now, but most of us still shake our heads, as Gordon confesses to "foggy memories" surrounding several inaccuracies.

Cal :)

Calman not only that Gordon Ramsay is one of those Southern Scots, they claim to be from the old country but hang out and speak like they're from Surrey or Sussex in England. :P
P.S. they also live with their families near London. ;)

Calman not only that Gordon Ramsay is one of those Southern Scots

He was born in Johnstone, Western Glasgow in 'Central Scotland' (40 mins from my old stomping grounds) - but grew up in Stratford-upon-Avon in the West Midlands, England, so "English" is his natural accent as an adult.

Best Regards,
Cal :)

So Gordon is a tad more Scottish than singer Rod Stewart.  ;)
