Title: Lola's Bones
Post by: lkjohnson1950 on January 22, 2021, 08:19:13 PM
The assets and windtunnel of Lola Cars is going up for sale. Though primarily a racing sports car manufacturer, Lola had a good deal of success in Indy Car and was briefly an F1 entrant in the '60's.

This Mazda powered Lola had great success in IMSA GTP Lites racing

Many other Lolas were raced in many classes around the world, including some hiding under Aston Martin and Nissan badged cars. Sad to see a company with such history come to an end.

I still hope that someone will buy the entire company & return to race car production.

Here are a couple to follow up on Lonny's post. The Lola-Corvette GTP from IMSA in the mid 1980's. And a favorite of mine, one of the cars Lola built for MG when they tried to return to racing a couple of decades ago.
