This term 'J' (Jounce) dampers get the heave-ho from F1.
Now hands up how many of us really knew these mass damper style things still existed?  ;)

However there still seems to be uncertainty this regulation amendment will put an end to Merc's trick rake/floor stalling device. The jury still seems to be out on whether or not its a mass/inertia damper?
Also since there is little info on this devilish device, is it transferable to the new gen venturi tunnel cars this year anyway?  :DntKnw:

Remember when F1 was about inventing and using new technology? Now they just ban it.

I remember that, Lonnie. But then, I'm old enough to remember when snakes had legs.  ;)

I've found this new explanation of the use of 'J' Dampers in F1. Seems they have pretty limited use that may be overcome by change to lower profile tyres anyway.
