Changes at Indy
« on: September 19, 2007, 04:37:55 AM »
I stopped by The Speedway when I passed through Indy last week, and took some photos of the changes being made in the road course. This is the course that will be used for the US MotoGP starting next year. It has been approved by the FIA for F1, should the USGP ever return there.

And it should!

The turn numbers are from the old, clockwise configuration. The Turn 9 & 10 photo is a bittersweet one for me. Some of the best pictures I took at the USGP over the years were from the viewing mound they're tearing down.

Turn 13 (Turn 1 on the oval) is the one that Ralf kept hitting year after year.

The track has a virtual reality view of the construction:

“You can search the world over for the finer things, but you won't find a match for the American road and the creatures that live on it.”
― Bob Dylan
