it was found a few/several years ago, quite a sight seeing it being pulled out of the water, still blue with the union flag on its tail and the thing was virtualy in tact, then they found his body not far away from the cash site. After decades of being told there would be nothing left of the boat or DC

I would reccommend to anyone who hasn't seen it to get hold of the last edition of MotorSport.  Not sure if the new one is out yet.  It has an article written by Sir Malcolm Campbell for his regiment's magazine about some of his adventures.  During the few pages he sets quite a few world speed records most of which he views as failures.  But they are the least of his adventures.  Amongst other things he is taken prisoner by a tribe in Morocco.  With some of the things he went through I think the LSR and WSR attempts were light relief.
