Me is back too.
Long story, but I've had no personal internet for nearly a year. This is because I left my parents' house in early January. For the next 10 weeks, I was staying at my brother's house, where I had very limited access to the internet. Then I stayed at a "halfway house" to learn independence skills... ...where I could finally get my computer back, but which forbade internet connection to the house because they considered other lessons to be more important (like learning to cook, clean and understand how to run a house).
In August, I got my own flat. I thought it would be easy to get internet then, but I failed to consider that my first "supplier" wasn't much good at the supplying bit - but excellent at losing routers and contradicting themselves over the phone. So I found a competent supplier and (after a day of jiggery-pokery) got connected within the past hour.
Hope everyone is well and happy :)

Welcome back, Ali! We've missed you. It sounds like you've really had your hands full.

A big warm welcome from me Ali, we really have missed you. It sounds like you've had quite an ordeal but it also sounds as if its been worth it, if a new flat is your reward.
Congratulations and welcome back. :good:

GREAT NEWS! Welcome back Ali, I can only echo what the others have said. We had a few questions while you were away, but I see by my 'Unread Topics' that you've already been busy.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas in your new place.

Welcome back Alia, it's been much too long.
A first home from home for yourself, wow that brings back pleasant memories of my first place away from my parents, hope you enjoy your freedom as much as I did. ;)

Welcome back, Ali! We've missed you. It sounds like you've really had your hands full.
Quite. And I forgot to mention I got a job in the middle of all this (well, May actually). I fix computers over the phone (or try to!) It's really interesting work that keeps my brain busy and my bank manager happy, but the hours are short enough that I've still got plenty of energy when I get home. (I just have to be a bit careful not to get ready for work too noisily on days my shift starts at 6 am!)

If I've missed any questions, please remind me - I can't guarantee I spotted everything the first time.
As for Christmas... ...my plan is to spend some of Christmas Day at work (I have a shift then, because some of my customers live in places that don't do Christmas) and part of it at my parents' house (Christmas morning/lunch) and aunt's place (Boxing day family get-together). I'm also going to try cooking myself a Christmas meal at some point in the holiday season (likely starring a turkey leg) because I think it will be a useful experience for me.

:-[ Well, part of my encyclopaedia still hasn't been transferred from my parents' house yet (there's about 20 boxes of books and magazines still there), but I will do my best...

It's going very well and I'm really happy to be here. 3 minutes' walk away from work is very useful, it's a good size and cheap enough to be affordable with this job I like.
Everyone is glad your back Alia, especially me....
Hasn't been the same without you :D
