Title: Driver Coaching
Post by: lkjohnson1950 on July 18, 2019, 07:22:51 AM
If you watch very much F1 coverage, you must have noticed an attractive blonde woman who is always at Lewis' side. Meet Angela Cullen who looks after his health and conditioning. She does not actually work for Lewis or Mercedes but for a company that coaches half the drivers on the grid.

An emphasis on how much F1 is a 'team sport' even though the driver is the one on display.  We can certainly argue about which sports are the most difficult, but very few have as much 'around' the sport as F1 does.  There is so much a driver needs to do that has nothing to do with driving, yet everything to do with winning.

Here's a short video about Angela Cullen. Lots of good pictures behind the scenes.

Thanks Lonny.  I wondered about her often, but thought she was a Merc employee.
