Title: Ace Lewis is a whizz quid
Post by: davewilson on April 28, 2007, 07:33:20 AM
RACE ace Lewis Hamilton has motored into Britain’s top ten richest young sport heroes — just months after taking F1 by storm.

The rookie has already raked in £5million after bagging podium finishes in his first three races.

Now Hamilton, 22, has entered the Sunday Times Rich List’s top sports stars under 30 — at No 7.

The ace — joint first in the Drivers’ Championship — has a £500,000-a-year contract with McLaren-Mercedes.

He gets bonuses for championship points and rakes it in via commercial endorsements.

Tennis star Andy Murray, 19, has also smashed his way on to the list — joint seventh with Hamilton on £5million.

The Sun columnist’s £250,000-a-year shirt logo deal with Highland Spring is said to be the most lucrative in tennis history.

Deals with RBS, Fred Perry and Head boosted his wealth.

F1 star Jenson Button, 27 — worth £30million — tops the list for the second year running — despite only winning his first race on his 113th attempt.
He has a string of sponsorship deals and a five-year, £50million Honda contract.
