F1 Grid Game / Logan Sargeant

Albon crashed in practice, damaging the tub on his car. Since Williams didn't bring a spare chassis, they have given Albon Logan's car for the race. LS is therefore a DNS. Adjust your picks accordingly.

With all that's happened at RB I bet if Lewis hadn't signed
with Ferrari Max would have joined them in a heartbeat

Makes me wonder if Lewis knew something was going on at RB and decided he'd better take a chance on a switch to Ferrari before someone else did (ie Max).

His move to Mercedes was quite prescient... Maybe he's done it again.

Makes me think Lewis would hope Max went to Ferrari and he could go to RB. Sometimes you switch chairs too quick

No one likes a bully, which is what R/B has become. The same was true of Merc when they were dominating. Red Bull in particular have made themselves thoroughly unlikeable. Max, Horner, and especially Marko are all difficult to warm up to.

Rumour mill is in overdrive

https://www.planetf1.com/news/red-bull-max-verstappen-to-mercedes-done-deal

I find it rather amusing that after 2024 started with literally no changes to the driver lineup, within 2 races of the season start, it looks like only a couple drivers will be staying put in 2025.

I do find it distressing that the state of the 'sport' is such that no one seems to care about the sport itself, and just the off track drama.  What is Red Bull doing wrong that their utter dominance isn't being celebrated?

We'd still have engines in the front of the cars if the same
people were in charge back in 50's and 60's

Williams FW08D never got the chance to race as FIA got wind of it's progress and banned it.

Wow, overcoming a 160hp turbo advantage with 6 wheeler must have shocked the big manufacturers rigid, especially with the rear wing missing.  :D

In article from 2018, linked below, look out for some famous names on the project at start of their F1 careers.

F1 History / Re: Remembering Murray Walker in what would be his 100th year
« Last post by Jericoke on March 13, 2024, 02:49:36 PM »
A lot of modern sports commentators have a great voice, a depth of knowledge and great ability to help viewers understand what is going on.  No complaints about who voices F1 these days.

But Walkers love for the sport bled through. His enthusiasm was a big part of how I learned to enjoy the sport.  It was almost like having a friend give an excited explanation, beyond the mere 'play by play' the job calls for.

Continue to RIP Mr Walker, and may your archived excitement for F1 continue to bring in new F1 fans and be a friendly voice to us old fans.
